Reading My Bible

The things we do in general fall into to categories those that we have to do so that we can do what we want to do and those that we want to do. Almost all of the things that we do are things we want to do, if we truly did not want to do them then we wouldn't. Meaning that if a person did not want a shine new car they would not buy one, Something that they would want to do, therefore they would not have to put the work into earning what would get them the shine new car, things that we do because we want to do the things we want to do. There are the times when these two don't consider like being in shape, for some, is something that they want, however they don't want to do the work to do the thing they want to do, exercise.

This is why when I was thinking of not reading my bible for yesterday, I realized that I had been asking God to make me a Godly man and even though not reading it for one day isn't going to kill me or hurt me it is keeping me from what I want. When I read the word I can grow, I can glorify God, I can worship and I can gain wisdom and understanding. All things I want and while it isn't the way plenty of Christians that I believe to be really Godly people do it, it is what I am striving for because it is what I desire and so there ideas on how to read while important do dictate my views. I am neither better or worse for these views just growing in the the way God wishes me to, while they Grow in the way God wishes them to.

This was my first thought on my reading, me second thought on reading my bible is that it is health, It is what will help me stay away from temptation (in proverbs it constantly talks about how wisdom and understand will guide you and keep you from falling). It being something that is health and good for me, why shouldn't I want to do it. That is like saying sleeping will give you five more years life, As a christian it is vitally important that I stay in the word and it is good for me as well as it helps me do what I want to do.

So why shouldn't I want to read.

My God is great.
